Market Data

Real-time prices, open interest, funding rates, volume, and technical indicators across exchanges.

What You Get

PerpDesk aggregates market data from multiple exchanges into a unified view. Instead of switching between five exchange tabs, you see everything in one place — prices, derivatives data, and technical analysis all feeding into your decisions and your agents' decisions.

Price Data (OHLCV)

Candlestick data across multiple timeframes:

TimeframeUse Case
1 minuteScalping, precise entry timing
5 minuteShort-term momentum, intraday setups
15 minuteSwing entry/exit timing
1 hourIntraday trend structure
4 hourMedium-term trend direction
1 dayHigher timeframe context, macro structure

All candle data includes open, high, low, close, and volume for each period.

Open Interest

Open interest (OI) measures the total number of outstanding perpetual futures contracts. It tells you how much money is actively positioned in the market.

PerpDesk tracks OI across 5 exchanges: Hyperliquid, Binance, Aster, Coinbase InTX, and Lighter.

Why OI matters:

  • OI rising + price rising — new money entering longs, trend likely to continue
  • OI rising + price falling — new money entering shorts, downtrend strengthening
  • OI falling + price rising — shorts closing (short squeeze), move may not sustain
  • OI falling + price falling — longs closing (capitulation), potential bottom forming

Watching OI across multiple exchanges gives you a broader picture than any single venue.

Funding Rates

Funding rates are periodic payments between long and short holders on perpetual futures. They keep the perpetual price anchored to the spot price.

PerpDesk tracks funding rates across 5 exchanges.

How to read funding:

  • Positive funding — longs pay shorts. Market is bullish (more demand for longs). Extremely high positive funding can signal overheated longs.
  • Negative funding — shorts pay longs. Market is bearish (more demand for shorts). Extremely negative funding can signal overheated shorts.
  • Funding divergence across exchanges — when one exchange has significantly higher funding than others, it can indicate venue-specific positioning or arbitrage opportunity.

Volume

Volume data aggregated across 5 exchanges shows you the real participation level in the market.

What volume tells you:

  • High volume + price move — conviction behind the move, likely to sustain
  • Low volume + price move — weak move, likely to reverse
  • Volume spikes — sudden interest, often around news or liquidation events
  • Volume declining over time — market losing interest, range-bound conditions likely

Cross-exchange volume gives a more complete picture than any single venue.

Technical Indicators

PerpDesk calculates and displays standard technical indicators in real-time:

IndicatorWhat It Measures
EMA (Exponential Moving Average)Trend direction, weighted toward recent price
RSI (Relative Strength Index)Overbought/oversold momentum (0-100)
MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence)Trend momentum and direction changes
Bollinger BandsVolatility envelope around price, squeeze/expansion
ATR (Average True Range)Volatility magnitude, useful for stop placement
StochRSI (Stochastic RSI)Momentum oscillator, more sensitive than standard RSI

These indicators feed into both your manual analysis and your agents' decision-making. Riven references them when generating trade recommendations, and they're available across all supported timeframes.

Macro Events

Economic calendar events from major financial data providers, covering scheduled announcements that can move crypto markets:

  • Central bank rate decisions
  • CPI and inflation reports
  • Employment data
  • GDP releases
  • Other high-impact economic events

Knowing when major macro events are scheduled helps you manage risk around volatility spikes and avoid getting caught in unexpected moves.

How Agents Use Market Data

All of this data feeds directly into agent decision-making:

  • Riven references price action, indicators, and OI when generating trade recommendations
  • Luma aggregates signals across funding, OI, and volume to build a unified market read
  • Meridian monitors macro events and flags upcoming volatility risks
  • Vanta uses multi-timeframe data to classify market regimes

Market data is the foundation everything else is built on. Your agents can only be as good as the data they see — PerpDesk ensures they see a lot.
